CCM Enters Administration

We were as shocked and saddened as everyone else, to hear that parent company PITALIA CAPITAL have taken the decision to enter CCM into administration.

Along with CCM Motorcycles (UK), five other associated business (Jumptec LTD, Clews & Sons, Alegatum plus two Project Black investor companies) were also put into administration.

The news broke on the company Facebook page as supporters, staff and fans were taken aback by the sudden move.

Founded by Alan Clews in 1971 CCM became one of the biggest names in motocross as the brand soared in competitions and market share. However a series of different owners over the last number of years have had limited success in recreating those successful early days.

A new lease of life was breathed into the brand by Pitalia in 2021 when entrepreneur Anil Pitalia took over financing and ownership of the company from the Clews family.

Later Pitalia appointed Jason Broome, a visionary leader with extensive experience as Managing Director. Jason would sharpen all aspects of the brand from production right through to sales.

Under Broome, CCM took huge steps forward. They very quickly resolved the finish issues which plagued the bikes. They utilised the design of the Spitfire to release several new models based around the same engine package and they raised the standard of production, backup and support.

Broome understood that CCM needed a local presence if they were to increase their sales, so he set about establishing a dealer and service network which had really begun to return significant sales and offer real security while building confidence and credibility in the brand.

Unfortunately Broome and the dedicated team at CCM were not given enough time to fully realise the efforts of their phenomenal work, which is somewhat disappointing.

As news broke that the company had been entered into administration, supporters and staff took to social media to express their sadness.

In a short space of time, Broome and his team at CCM have turned the brand around, significantly reducing operating costs while increasing sales in what has been the most challenging time, in history, for motorcycle brands.

They have fine-tuned the production process, eliminating the legacy quality and assembly issues that had troubled previous versions of the brand. It was as if the brand had, for the first time since those Alan Clews days, finally been put on solid foundations and was now capable of moving forward at pace. Perhaps that is the most bewildering part, or perhaps CCM may just be collateral damage in a much wider issue.

Our thoughts are with the small tight-knit team at CCM who live, breath and bleed the brand. These are real people who have a passion for the brand, a passion for bikes and a passion for success.

It was our pleasure to work with them all and we were privileged to see, first hand, the pure dedication and passion they had for the job they do which goes far beyond what any ‘job’ demands. Hopefully there will be one more positive turn in the long history of CCM, only time will tell.

At Evolution, we are well stocked with service parts so we can continue to service all our CCM customers.
