1976 Kawasaki Z900

It is hard to believe this stunning example of the Kawasaki Z900 is now 50 years old!

This is a genuine survivor from the 70s and has been in the same ownership for the last 30 years.

From new these bikes didn’t handle very well, the rear swingarm and front forks flexed which left handling very suspect. A common remedy at the time was to upgrade to a set of 1980s Suzuki forks and fit a JMC Swingarm. These modifications totally transformed the bike and made it handle like it should.

This bike has both those modifications and in addition to this, it also has a set of Suzuki wheels which allows it to run with a wider selection of modern tyres. A set of pod-filters help the Zed inhale the air it needs.

This bike was given a light restoration around 5 years ago. It rides and stops but it is a 50 year old bike so it will need constant TLC. The rear sprocket is a little low-geared however the previous owner did not mind as the bike was only used for the odd Sunday morning cruise so top end speed was not important to him.
